What you’ll be doing
This is an opportunity to lead and transform the financial operations of a high-growth business. The objective of the role is to build a scalable, efficient finance function capable of supporting the company’s significant future growth.
The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate internal and external financial reporting and analysis to the Management team, Board, and external stakeholders. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take full ownership of all accounting and financial reporting obligations, including monthly management reporting and the preparation of semi-annual and annual financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present high-quality monthly management reports (including commentary and KPIs)
- Prepare annual and semi-annual audited consolidated financial statements, including ASX reporting obligations (Annual Report, Appendix 4E and 4D)
- Support Investor Relations activities, including preparing investor presentations
- Provide commercial financial support and analysis to multiple Executive General Managers
Compliance, Audit, and Tax
- Manage the company’s taxation affairs, including accounting for tax
- Manage the external audit relationship and ensure timely completion of audits
- Oversee the preparation and lodgment of FBT, GST, and other compliance-related returns
- Oversee the compilation of documentation supporting the company’s annual tax return
Financial Management and Controls
- Oversee cash flow management and forecasting
- Maintain asset valuation models and impairment calculations
- Oversee the group treasury function to ensure liquidity and foreign currency risk are appropriately managed
- Design, implement, and monitor efficient and effective internal controls
- Maintain and upgrade financial and reporting systems
- Manage external relationships with advisors in relation to business combinations, PPA, and acquisition accounting
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, develop, and manage the accounts receivable and accounting teams
- Oversee finance operations of company functions located overseas, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, scalability of processes and systems, and high team performance
Regulatory Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all regulatory reporting obligations (ASIC, ABS Surveys, business licences, etc.)

What will make you successful in this role?
Skills and Experience
- CA or CPA qualified, trained with a chartered accounting firm
- 10+ years post-qualification experience
- Strong technical capability and up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and ASX reporting obligations
- Proven track record in leading the delivery of Group audits and Group Financial Statement preparation
- Prior experience in an ASX-listed business
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills
- Experience in M&A, including acquisition accounting, is highly regarded
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using large ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite)
