What you’ll be doing
We are looking for an experienced team member for our Engineering Team. Using cutting edge technologies, our Engineering Team has the important responsibility of integrating systems and ensuring that our valuable data is available for the many data use cases which range from operational and regulatory reporting to analytics and machine learning.
As a Software Engineer, you will be a key member of the Architecture and Engineering team. You will work with senior technology leads as well as stakeholders across the business and support functions solving for their varied needs. Technology is a key asset for the firm. Our leadership recognises that, in this green-fields environment, we have a unique opportunity to get it right the first time.
The scope of the role will be to implement integrations and data pipelines within our Integration Platforms and Data Lakehouse framework based on Databricks.
What will make you successful in this role?
Required:
• 5+ years’ experience in any technical engineering role.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Ability to write and tune complex SQL.
• Experience in the Data Engineering space.
• Commercial experience with Spark and AirFlow.
• Cloud / Platforms / DevOps experience.
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis or Solace.
• Adaptive and able to hit the ground running.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training / work experience.
• Willingness to have fun with the team while doing your best work.
Ideal:
• 3+ years’ experience in Capital Markets / Trading setting
• Experience with Databricks in a commercial setting.
• Data analysis, data modelling, data integration, data warehousing/lake and database design.
• Strong communication skills.
• A keen learner curious about new technologies and open to doing things differently.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Unix.
• Experience in data integration projects and automation via ETL Tools.
• Ability to lead the development process and drive architectural decisions.
