What you’ll be doing

 

This is a Senior Network Engineer and consulting role responsible for a mix of project based, ad hoc and on‐site residency engagements with Cirrus customers. This includes the requirements gathering, design, build, implementation, support and troubleshooting of customer network environments across network, wireless and security products and technologies.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements in consultation with solution architects as required 
  • Define, compile and document designs; produce and continually update HLD and LLD documentation.
  • Implement solutions to specifications and designs  
  • Communicate and report on project status and outcomes 
  • Act as an escalation point for implementation and design issues as required 
  • Produce, manage and adhere to technical documentation eg. Site schematics, change control documents, site audits 
  • Resolve customer problems and requests to required service targets  
  • Assist in pre‐sales activities to build and deliver statements of work 
  • Apply technical knowledge to effectively analyse and resolve problems 
  • Accurately and consistently perform general administration and management of job logging functions 
  • Assess and evaluate risk and understand the implications of new technologies 
  • Demonstrate a vision for remaining relevant in a fast‐paced and ever‐changing IT marketplace 
  • Provide escalation support for service delivery teams and resolve technical issues 
  • Ensure service quality through technical competence and attention to detail 
  • Strive for high levels of customer feedback scores 
  • Maintain effective communications with your clients 
  • Work with Solution Architects and Account Management staff to ensure effective management of the client base 
  • Obtain and maintain industry certifications 
  • Identify opportunities to provide new services and offerings 
  • Develop new strategies to increase efficiency in the systems 
  • Perform system analysis and recommend improvements 
  • Other tasks as required

What will make you successful in this role? 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience supporting, designing, configuring and implementing routing protocols such as BGP, MPLS, and OSPF.
  • Industry based technical certifications (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Aruba, etc). 
  • Prior experience within an outsourced managed service provider or systems integrator, delivering a vast array of medium to large projects across multiple customers.
  • Consultative approach to determining client requirements along with a collaborative approach to developing and deploying the solution. 
  • Being agile and flexible to move between multiple concurrent customer engagements. 
  • Understand and adhere to vendor best practice designs and principles. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate consistent experience in providing quality technical services to customers. 
  • Ability to plan, design, implement and troubleshoot solutions in medium‐large organisations with vendor products and technologies including: 
    o    Cisco Routing and Switching 
    o    Checkpoint Firewalls
    o    Cisco/Meraki Wireless 
    o    Palo Alto Firewalls 
    o    Cisco Nexus Data Centre Switching
    o    Cisco SDN and SDA

 

Desired
A mix of some of the following skills: 

  • Strong route and switch troubleshooting skills
  • Collaboration, including: 
    o    CUCM
  • Security, including: 
    o    Checkpoint firewalls
    o    Cisco ISE 
    o    Cisco AMP 
    o    Cisco ASA/FirePower Firewalls
