What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Senior Payroll Officer to join our collaborative Finance team. This is a permanent full-time position based at our local vendor’s office in Makati City.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, managing employee time and attendance data, handling payroll queries, and supporting reporting and compliance activities. This role requires a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage high-volume data entry in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for employees, including salary calculations, deductions, superannuation contributions, and adjustments.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable Australian and New Zealand legislation, including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax requirements.
• Employee Support: Respond to payroll-related queries and provide professional and timely support to employees.
• Collaboration: Liaise with People & Culture and Finance teams to streamline payroll processes and support business operations.
• Reporting & Audits: Prepare and distribute payroll reports, maintain accurate employee records, and assist with audits and month-end/year-end reconciliations.

• Location: Makati City, Philippines
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Work Arrangement: 4 days onsite (Makati) and 1 day WFH
What will make you successful in this role?
• Payroll Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience managing payroll for Australian and New Zealand employees in a medium-sized organisation (1,000+ headcount).
• Qualifications: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential. Completion of courses related to superannuation, long service leave, payroll tax, etc., will be highly regarded.
• Systems Knowledge: Hands-on experience with payroll systems e.g., NetSuite OpenAir, Micropay, SAP, etc.
• Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, financial reporting requirements, and Modern Awards.
• Quick Learner: Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and retain information.
• Proactiveness & Leadership: Takes initiative in managing and optimising payroll processes. Invests effort upfront to ensure accuracy and prevent issues.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and changing business needs.
• Attention to Detail: Highly meticulous with a focus on accuracy in all calculations and data entry.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to assess information and make sound decisions.
• Communication Skills: Able to engage confidently and professionally with employees at all levels across the business.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Proven capability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies effectively and efficiently.
