We are seeking a Senior SAP UI5 Consultant with a strong balance of hands on development expertise and delivery leadership to support end to end SAP implementations.

You will lead UI5/Fiori development across SAP programs, guiding solution design while actively building high quality, scalable UI applications. You will work closely with functional consultants, architects, and stakeholders to deliver user centric SAP solutions aligned with business outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Hands On Delivery


•    Design, develop, and deploy SAP UI5 / SAP Fiori applications for SAP S/4HANA and ECC landscapes
•    Build responsive, high performance applications using SAP UI5, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and OData
•    Develop and extend Fiori apps (standard and custom) using Fiori Elements and freestyle UI5
•    Integrate UI5 applications with SAP backend systems via OData, RFCs, and CDS views
•    Collaborate with ABAP and integration teams to ensure seamless end to end implementation
•    Perform unit testing, debugging, performance optimisation, and defect resolution
•    Support SIT, UAT, cutover, and go live activities

 

Added / Enhanced Responsibilities


•    Work extensively with SAP IU table.Table for large datasets, ensuring optimal performance, usability, and accessibility
•    Build and maintain reusable UI5 libraries and shared components used across multiple applications
•    Optimise applications for performance, including: 
1.    Efficient OData V2 usage (batching, paging, filtering, deferred groups)
2.    Lazy loading and optimised rendering techniques
3.    Minimising DOM size and network overhead

 

Implementation & Solution Design


•    Translate business and functional requirements into technical UI5/Fiori designs
•    Contribute to solution architecture and UX standards across SAP programs
•    Ensure alignment with SAP UX guidelines, Fiori design principles, and best practices
•    Support brownfield and greenfield implementations, including S/4HANA transformations
•    Drive delivery in tight timelines with a strong focus on quality, performance, and reusability

 

Leadership & Mentoring


•    Act as UI5/Fiori delivery lead across workstreams or projects
•    Guide and mentor junior developers and offshore teams
•    Conduct design reviews and enforce development standards
•    Provide effort estimates, delivery plans, and risk mitigation strategies
•    Engage with stakeholders, architects, and project leadership as a trusted advisor

What will make you successful in this role? 


Core Skills


•    7+ years of SAP experience with strong UI5/Fiori focus
•    Proven hands on experience delivering end to end SAP implementations
•    Deep expertise in: 
o    SAP UI5 & Fiori (Elements and Freestyle)
o    JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JSON
o    OData V2 model (binding, batching, performance optimisation)
•    Experience working with SAP S/4HANA environments
•    Strong experience working with SAP UI table. Table and large data volumes
•    Solid understanding of UI5 performance optimisation techniques
•    Solid understanding of SAP UX standards and accessibility (WCAG) principles

 

Delivery & Leadership Experience


•    Experience leading UI5 development on large or complex SAP programs
•    Ability to balance hands on development with team leadership
•    Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
•    Comfortable working in Agile and hybrid delivery models

 

Tools & Environment


•    Experience with SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)
•    Strong experience with Git based version control and collaborative development workflows
•    Experience working in multi developer environments with shared codebases and reusable libraries


Desirable / Nice to Have


•    SAP Fiori/UI5 or SAP BTP related certifications
•    Experience with: 
o    SAP BTP (CAP, BAS, Launchpad services)
o    CDS views and annotations
o    Mobile and responsive SAP UX solutions
o    Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices for SAP
