The Senior SAP BTP Consultant – Extensions is responsible for designing, building, and governing cloud-native extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform. This role focuses on extending SAP S/4HANA and other SAP solutions following clean core principles, leveraging side-by-side extensibility, and enabling future-ready, upgrade-safe innovations.
The consultant will act as a technical leader, working closely with functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure SAP extensions.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Solution Design & Architecture


•    Design side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP aligned to Clean Core and SAP Extensibility Guidelines
•    Define extension strategies using SAP BTP services such as CAP, Kyma, SAP Build, and ABAP Environment
•    Translate business requirements into extensible, maintainable technical solutions

 

Development & Implementation


•    Lead development of extensions using: 
•    SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP)
•    Node.js / Java / ABAP Cloud
•    SAP Build Apps & Process Automation
•    Implement UI extensions using SAP Fiori Elements and SAPUI5
•    Ensure API-first, event-driven, and loosely coupled designs

 

Governance & Quality


•    Enforce clean core compliance and extension best practices
•    Implement CI/CD pipelines, code quality standards, and security controls
•    Guide teams on lifecycle management and extensibility governance

 

Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership


•    Act as a technical advisor to customers and internal delivery teams
•    Mentor junior consultants and developers
•    Contribute to solution roadmaps and innovation initiatives

What will make you successful in this role?

 

Core Skills


•    5+ years SAP experience with at least 3+ years on SAP BTP
•    Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP Extension Suite
•    Expertise in side-by-side extensibility and clean core concepts
•    Experience extending SAP S/4HANA (Cloud and/or Private Edition)

 

Technical Skills


•    CAP (Node.js/Java), ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
•    SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, OData services
•    SAP Build (Apps, Process Automation)
•    API Management, event-driven architectures
•    CI/CD, Git, cloud-native development practices

 

Nice to Have


•    Experience with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) via SAP BTP
•    Knowledge of SAP Domain Models and business processes
•    SAP BTP or SAP S/4HANA certifications
