The SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance Consultant is responsible for providing functional support, optimisation, and advisory services across a live SAP Finance environment delivered through an Application Managed Services (AMS) model.
 
This role works closely with onshore leadership, architects, and client stakeholders to ensure stable, SLA-driven support while contributing to continuous improvement and Clean Core-aligned enhancements.
 
Success in this role is measured by system stability, service quality, responsiveness to incidents and requests, and the ability to support ongoing SAP innovation. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

SAP Finance Support


 
•    Provide functional support across SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance (GL, AP, AR).
•    Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
•    Investigate and resolve production issues in line with SLA targets.
•    Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.

 

Service Delivery & Operations


 
•    Manage incidents and service requests via a structured ticketing platform.
•    Work within defined SLAs (P1–P4) for response and resolution.
•    Prioritise workload based on business impact and client direction.
•    Escalate issues to SAP or internal SMEs where required.


 
Enhancements & Continuous Improvement
 


•    Deliver minor enhancements including configuration updates, workflows, and reporting changes.
•    Support functional change requests within agreed scope.
•    Identify opportunities to improve system performance and usability.
•    Contribute to continuous improvement backlog.

 
 
 
Release & Change Support


 
•    Support SAP release cycles and impact assessments.
•    Assist with regression testing and validation activities.
•    Identify risks and recommend remediation actions.
•    Support adoption of new SAP features where relevant.

 


 
Collaboration & Advisory


 
•    Work closely with onshore SAP Service Lead and Architect.
•    Engage with business users to resolve issues and provide guidance.
•    Contribute to governance reporting and service reviews.
•    Support Clean Core-aligned advisory and best practices.

What will make you successful in this role? 


To succeed in this role, you will bring strong SAP Finance expertise in S/4HANA Public Cloud and the ability to operate effectively within an AMS support environment.
 
•    Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud – Finance (GL, AP, AR).
•    Strong understanding of financial close processes (month-end, year-end).
•    Experience working in a managed services or support environment.
•    Ability to work within SLA-driven delivery models.
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Excellent communication skills with both business and technical stakeholders.
•    Ability to manage competing priorities in a structured support environment.
 
 


Strongly Preferred:


 
•    SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance certification.
•    Experience with:
•    Exposure to SAP BTP concepts.
•    Understanding of integrations and downstream impacts.
•    Experience in energy or utilities sector.

Qualifications:

 

•    4–7+ years’ experience in SAP Finance.
•    Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (Finance).
•    Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
•    SAP certification (preferred but not mandatory).
