Revenue and Projects Accountant

What you’ll be doing
The main objective of this role is to perform project and revenue financial compliance within OpenAir and NetSuite, including but not limited to:
• project financial transacting (costings and revenue recognition)
• reviewing and reconciliation and verification
Project Finance Administration:
• Reviewing services sales orders and interpreting solution estimates, contracts, proposals etc. and ensuring data on service SO’s is in line with (i.e., Business Unit, contract type, etc.)
• Project Setups – working with project managers and setting up project financials within OpenAir as required. Project financials includes budgets (revenue, costs, hours etc. per solution estimate), billing rules and revenue recognition rules.
• Weekly Costings – calculating and posting weekly costings based on timesheets approved in OpenAir. Reviewing and resolving any inconsistencies
• Weekly Revenue Recognition - calculating and posting (integrating) weekly revenue recognition based on timesheets approved in OpenAIr and revenue recognition rules. Reviewing and resolving any inconsistencies
• Reconciliation weekly of OpenAIr and NetSuite once costings and revenue recognition based on OpenAIr data have been posted to NetSuite.
• Weekly reconciliation and review of project WIP balances.
• Refresh Power BI reporting and review all in line with OpenAIr and NetSuite per reconciliation.
• Assist Project managers with queries and questions around project financials.
• Drive OpenAIr/project financial hygiene and compliance with project managers, including pending billings, WIP balances, project completion/closures, invoice approvals, etc.
• Regular detailed project reviews with project managers, SDM’s and presales/solution team with analysis of budgeted/solutioned vs actual, resourcing, project risks, project issues and concerns, and learnings for future.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Degree/certification in accounting and finance
• 4 years’ experience in a similar role
• Sound understanding of revenue, costing and project accounting
• Analytical and methodical approach.
• Integrity, team spirit, and strong organizational skills.
