What you’ll be doing
At Atturra, as a Senior Data Lead / Specialist, you’ll be working on some of the highest profile transformation and technology projects in the Asia Pacific region. The depth, breadth and scope of our projects means you are continually developing your skillset and the value you can deliver. We are currently seeking a Senior Data Lead / Specialist with expertise in Python, Spark and Airflow technologies to join our Hong Kong office. This individual will play a crucial role in leading our offshore data engineering team.
Key Accountabilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
• Lead and manage the offshore data engineering team based in China.
• Foster a collaborative environment and ensure effective communication between the on-site and offshore teams
• Mentor and guide the team, especially in Python, Airflow and Spark technologies.
Technical Expertise in Python and Spark:
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines primarily using Python, Spark, and Airflow.
• Drive the implementation of Spark-based solutions to optimize data processing.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Python, Spark, and Airflow ecosystems.
Data Engineering and ETL Processes:
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot complex data engineering projects.
• Implement best practices in data management and ETL process optimization.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality and efficient data solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with various departments to understand and fulfill their data requirements.
• Translate complex business needs into technical specifications and data strategies.
• Project administration and project management work on a part time basis
What will make you successful in this role?
The position necessitates a highly motivated individual who can provide strong technical skills, along with leadership, guidance, and coaching abilities, to deliver quality focused outcomes.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in data engineering, specifically in Python, Spark, and Airflow environments.
• Proven history in developing and managing large-scale ETL processes.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and scaling teams, particularly in an offshore setting.
Person Attributes:
• Excellent command (both written and oral) of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Excellent communication skills & the ability to consult with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute and self-manage within a team environment.
• Ability to build rapport within the workplace, work well within a team, excellent networking skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Business acumen and ability to identify client business drivers.
Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Information Technology.
