The Cutover and Transition Lead will manage the planning, coordination and execution of cutover and transition activities within a major SAP S/4HANA program. The role has focus on ensuring a controlled deployment, readiness across business and technical teams, and smooth transition to operations. The position requires strong coordination skills, structured delivery experience and the ability to operate within complex enterprise and government environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage the cutover plan, transition schedule and associated readiness checklists.
• Coordinate cutover activities across functional, technical, data, testing and business teams.
• Lead cutover workshops, mock cutovers, rehearsals and readiness reviews.
• Identify and manage cutover risks, issues, dependencies and mitigation actions.
• Ensure alignment between cutover activities and program governance, deployment strategy and business readiness plans.
• Work with data migration teams to validate timing, data load windows and reconciliation steps.
• Coordinate with technical teams on environment preparation, batch scheduling, interface activations and system availability.
• Support communication planning and stakeholder engagement during cutover and transition periods.
• Oversee hypercare planning, early life support activities and transition to BAU operations.
• Provide status reporting, dashboards and updates to program leadership and governance bodies.
• Drive continuous improvement of cutover and transition practices based on lessons learned.
Required Skills and Experience
• Demonstrated experience leading cutover and transition activities in SAP S/4HANA or large ERP transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of SAP program structures, deployment life cycles and inter‑team dependencies.
• Experience managing detailed cutover plans, checklists, rehearsals and go‑live execution.
• Strong coordination, problem‑solving and organisational capabilities.
• Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across business, technical and program leadership groups.
• Experience working in complex enterprise or government environments.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and reporting skills.
• Required Australian Citizenship and mandatory AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
• NV1 Security Clearance preferred.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies in SAP programs.
• Familiarity with government readiness, risk and deployment frameworks.
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager or ALM tools used for deployment and cutover coordination.
