What you’ll be doing
Submissions Officers, working to the Submission Manager’s guidance, report to the Operations Manager and are responsible for managing panel submissions. The role supports Member companies from receipt of a panel opportunity to proposal submission, and in some cases contract management. This requires careful checking of Member documentation for accuracy, compliance and completeness, following fully documented procedures.
The role often has concurrent deliverables and, as it can be ‘customer facing’ with Members, requires a calm methodical approach. From time to time, the role requires staff to work outside normal working hours to ensure submission deadlines are met. Equally, on occasion the role is quiet.
Typically, there are about a dozen active opportunities being managed (by a team of three) at any one time, each involving about six Member responses.
The ideal candidate must be based in Canberra and will be required to work on site at our Belconnen office, 5 days per week, at 4 hours per day with great flexibility on offer.
Additionally, holding an Australian Citizenship is a minimum non-negotiable requirement for this role. Have an AGSVA Baseline Clearance or the willingness and ability to obtain one.

- Seek and work to advice from a technical manager.
- Accurately follow written procedures.
- Work confidently with the Microsoft Office suite of IT tools.

- Analyse and escalate potential risks.
- Maintain company systems including physical and digital records.
- Create and lodge various reports as required.
- Participate in regular operational and staff meetings.
- Support a collaborative environment within the SME Gateway office.
- Complete directed online training activities.
- Meet all security requirements to handle up to Official: Sensitive material.
