What you’ll be doing
We are looking for an experienced Sr Consultant who can specialise in business and technology transformation, technology strategy and data governance. You will be flexible and willing to use a broad set of consulting capabilities with a key focus in helping clients unlock the value of their data through your knowledge of data management, governance, and data quality best practices. This role will focus on driving meaningful business engagement and strategic alignment across senior leadership. As a bridge between business and technical teams, you will play a critical role in shaping our client’s data governance vision, influencing data strategy, and embedding governance principles into business processes across their organisation. With a willingness to stretch into various client engagements across business and technology transformation.
• Lead Strategy Engagements: Collaborate with client stakeholders to define data-driven business strategies, articulate data management or technology roadmaps, conduct data maturity assessments and align technology and data capabilities with business objectives.
• Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks: Design and deliver governance structures, policies, and procedures that promote data quality, compliance, and accountability.
• Define and Embed Data Roles: Lead the establishment and operationalisation of data roles including data stewardship, ownership, and custodianship.
• Architect Enterprise Data Solutions: Guide the design of scalable, resilient, and future-ready data architecture that supports integration, analytics, and governance requirements.
• Ensure Compliance: Assist clients in understanding their data and privacy compliance obligations. Helping them to establish appropriate governance, controls and monitoring.
• Data Modelling Expertise: Develop and review high-quality conceptual and logical data models to support business process design and technology enablement. An assist in the development of data glossaries, metadata catalogues and data lineage.
• Define KPIs, dashboards: Work with clients to establish and define KPIs through all levels of their organisation, and wireframe dashboards that ensure visibility and accountability.
• Client Engagement and Thought Leadership: Facilitate workshops, author deliverables, and present recommendations to senior stakeholders. Contribute to practice development through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Project Oversight: Manage and deliver client projects on time and within scope, ensuring high standards of delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Partner with senior stakeholders: Work with a diverse set of stakeholders including data owners, and executives to define and enforce data standards, data ownership, and stewardship responsibilities.

What will make you successful in this role?
• Proven experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategy roles.
• Demonstrated success in driving strategic data governance initiatives across complex organisations.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to perform strategic analysis aligned with corporate objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams, with the ability to influence and advise senior executives.
• Experience with modern data platforms and technologies (e.g. cloud data ecosystems, data catalogues, MDM, lineage tools).
• Strong understanding of metadata management, data stewardship, data quality principles, and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and enterprise risk and data frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, APP, Privacy Act).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Management, Business or a related field.
• Certifications in data management or architecture (e.g., DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK, CDMP, TOGAF, AWS/Azure Data Certifications).
• Experience across diverse industry sectors such as government, finance, health, or utilities.
• Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to data (e.g., APRA CPS 234, GDPR).
• Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure) but not essential
