SAP Functional Solution Architect - Procurement, Retail, Supply Chain - EOI

What you’ll be doing

The SAP Functional Solution Architect provides functional solution leadership across SAP S/4HANA with a focus on procurement, supply chain and retail processes, including SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environments. The role is responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, fit-to-standard SAP solution designs that align with Public Cloud best practice, standard scope items, integration principles and delivery governance.

This position works closely with clients, business stakeholders, project teams and technical specialists to shape end-to-end functional solutions across source-to-pay, inventory and logistics, order fulfilment, retail operations, merchandising, pricing, master data and integration touchpoints with finance and third-party systems.

The role contributes across the full delivery lifecycle, including discovery, fit-to-standard workshops, solution architecture, configuration alignment, integration design, testing support, data migration readiness, deployment governance and ongoing solution improvement within SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

• Duties and Responsibilities
  •    Lead SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud functional solution architecture across procurement, supply chain and retail transformation, implementation and optimisation programs.
  •    Translate business strategy, operational requirements, process needs and reporting expectations into fit-to-standard SAP solution designs.
  •    Provide architectural guidance across procurement, sourcing, inventory management, logistics execution, warehouse and fulfilment processes, retail operations, merchandising, pricing and master data.
  •    Facilitate fit-to-standard and design workshops with clients and stakeholders to confirm requirements, identify gaps, challenge customisation and recommend SAP Public Cloud best-practice approaches.
  •    Own and contribute to solution design documentation, process flows, configuration principles, decision papers, integration requirements and architecture artefacts.
  •    Ensure functional solution designs consider integration, master data, migration, reporting, security, controls, compliance and operational support requirements.
  •    Work with functional consultants, technical teams, developers, test teams and delivery leads to maintain solution integrity through build, test, cutover and deployment.
  •    Review configuration, extensibility and enhancement decisions to ensure alignment with approved architecture, SAP Public Cloud standards and clean-core principles.
  •    Support project governance by identifying risks, dependencies, design issues and opportunities for simplification, automation or process improvement.
  •    Support pre-sales, estimation and proposal activity where SAP S/4HANA functional architecture input is required across procurement, supply chain or retail.

What will make you successful in this role? 

• Strong functional consulting and solution architecture experience in SAP S/4HANA across procurement, supply chain and retail, with specific experience in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
• Demonstrated experience leading Public Cloud fit-to-standard workshops, solution design, configuration alignment, scope validation and gap management.
• Deep understanding of procurement, source-to-pay, inventory management, logistics, fulfilment, retail operations, merchandising, pricing, master data and related business processes.
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud best practices, standard scope items, business configuration, extensibility options and clean-core delivery principles.
• Experience working across full SAP project lifecycles, including discovery, design, build, test, data migration, cutover, deployment and post-go-live support.
• Strong awareness of integration touchpoints across finance, sales, warehousing, logistics, procurement networks, retail channels, reporting, analytics and third-party systems.
• Ability to lead client workshops, document solution options and influence stakeholders toward pragmatic, scalable and standardised design decisions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in consulting, project delivery or managed services environments and provide leadership across multidisciplinary team
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Retail Management or equivalent industry experience.
• Relevant SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Procurement, Supply Chain or Retail certifications are desirable.
