What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced ITSM CMDB admin and Change Management Coordinator ready to advance their career. In this role, you will manage the CMDB to ensure accuracy of information.  You will oversee change requests, maintain configuration baselines, and apply ITIL-based best practices.

You will also assist with Change Management as the Change Management Coordinator and progress your career by back filling the Change Manager from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the development and maintenance of effective configuration management system to track the agreed IT configuration items across the organisation.
  • Take responsibility for consistence and accuracy of the CMDB and Asset register
  • Define and champion configuration management processes and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy of configuration data, IT systems, and components.
  • Support CI/Asset Stocktake and audit activities of IT equipment and devices to verify the accuracy of inventory records and identify discrepancies.
  • Audit and validate CMDB entries with other available IT toolsets to ensure completeness of CI attributes
  • Ensure CMDB compliance in the Change and Service Request practices
  • Support the effective delivery and execution of IT Service Management practices by external suppliers and internal teams.
  • Take responsibility for the coordination of the Change Management process, and the quality of the changes submitted to CAB
  • Review requests for change for quality, completeness, identified impacts and comminution requirements and adherence to Change process requirements
  • Preparation of the CAB agenda, minutes and communication of the CAB outcomes and maintenance of the forward schedule of Change.
  • Manage the CAB meeting ensuring all stakeholders necessary for the meeting are invited and present.
  • Ensure all changes are moving through their life cycle in the Change management system
  • Work with Change implementers to ensure changes are successfully implemented

  • Predominantly office-based in Canberra
  • Permanent full time
  • Australian Citizen with baseline clearance 

What will make you successful in this role?

Expertise:

    • Demonstrated experience working with IT Asset and Configuration Management Practice
    • Demonstrated experience working with the ITIL Change Management Practice
    • Demonstrated experience working in and configuring IT Configuration Management Databases (CMDB, ServiceNow)
    • Strong understanding of IT service operations principles, focusing on IT configuration and asset management. 
    • Customer Service: Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with non-technical users.
    • Analytical Thinking: Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues logically.
    • Team Collaboration: A collaborative mindset and a willingness to work with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
    • Attention to Detail: have a keen eye for default and understanding quality elements of data stewardship

    Desirable Attributes:

    • Experience: Experience with Change management
    • Certifications: ITIL v4 Foundation highly desirable
